The circular, rotating blade easily powers through materials up to 1/4 inch thick while the AutoSharp blade system keeps the blade sharp for repetitive use. The Power Cutter uses an integrated 3.6-volt lithium-ion battery which can hold a charge up to 18 months, so it's always ready when it's needed. Weighing less than a pound with an ergonomic soft-grip handle, the power cutter is easy to handle and eliminates the fatigue experienced with standard scissors, making it ideal for people with arthritis.
The Power Cutter also incorporates a blade guard to minimize the possibility of accidents, unlike traditional utility knives that can be dangerous. The Power Cutter is incredibly versatile; cutting carpeting and carpet padding, vinyl flooring, wallpaper, and contact paper with ease. Low speed : Skil 2352-01 3.6-Volt Lithium-Ion Multi-Cutter
I purchased the Skil Multi-Cutter to help breakdown cardboard boxes for recycling. I had been using a box cutter but always risked cutting too deep into my carpet or slipping and cutting my leg. With the Skil, the risk is gone. It cuts quickly, maintains its charge for a long time, is safe and fun to use. Just hang it on a hook at a convenient location - you'll use it frequently. I don't rave about tools, but this was a great purchase!
